friendship is unconditional. when it ceases to be so, it's not true friendship anymore. it's more of a business relationship. just a thought for you to think about.

i walked out of ackerman student union today and saw about 4 security guards standing in the middle of westwood plaza. oh. i wonder why they're here. i looked around and couldn't really tell. then i looked toward where they were facing. still nothing...oh wait...what's that? it's governor gray davis. that skinny man was hidden, talking to some people in front of a camera. maybe filming a comercial? i dunno. he's really a toothpick in person.

for those of you not presently not in the los angeles area, there's a big forest fire in asuza (in the angeles national forest). it's approximately east of los angeles. rather far away. so on the day that it started, before i knew there was a fire, i happen to take a look out my window and saw the following:

my first thought? oh wow, a nuke went off. maybe i should leave? oh wait, i think i would've heard an explosion if a nuke went off. ok, it's not a nuke. what is it? so i turned on the tv and found the news...oh, it's only a forest fire. it's funny how i thought it was a nuke. it kind of looks like one, doesn't it? maybe a little? yea, well, i sometimes think the worst about things. i'm a pretty opptimistic person, but with some things, i assume the worst. however, i at least try verify what's going on.

a few things that bug me:

most people going to class OR getting on an elevator, both cases the same, act rather rude. what annoys me is that they don't wait for the people presently in class or in the elevator to exit. they either try to enter while everyone else is coming out (come on, you're not salmon swimming upstream) or while waiting outside, they don't make room for the others to pass (yea, like that's going to make things easier). one would think that this would be one of those common sense things...."oh, this class has just finished up. i'll just wait outside and not get in the way, because MAYBE they have somewhere else to go. besides, i'm already here, so it's not like i'll be late or anything."...yea, big false on that being common sense.

and the next one:
this has happened to me nearly every single day this summer that i have class. it's time for class to be over. i kno it. all the other students know it. the teacher even knows it. he has come to his point and is finishing up, in fact, he's only 10 seconds from being done, but what happens? no, nobody lets him finish, for as soon as they detect that silent "10 seconds left" alarm that everyone gets, they begin to pack up: notebooks being folded up, rustling in seats, putting notebooks in bags, zipping zippers...holy crap, is it so hard to wait 10 seconds to let the man finish? apparently it is.

i've been meaning to put these up for a while. i just never got around it and/or forgot. but i've remembered.
