Saturday, September 25, 2004 :::

alrite, so i spent this past week in washington. i was working out of Citrix's office in Redmond. My hotel was a few blocks from Microsoft's HQ. I didn't go take a look. I just might next week though, when I back. I'll say "hi" to Bill for you.

But anyway, a few pictures from my trip.

my rental car:

when I was at the airport Avis I had the option of 3 cars: Chevy Classic, Pontiac Grand Am, and the PT Cruiser. I'd driven the Classic and Grand Am while in Florida. I liked the Grand Am, but the Classic didn't have any power. When choosing, my mind drew a bit of a blank on what a PT Cruiser was. So I took it, and this is what I got. Cute little car, isn't it? I dug the electric blue, too. Power wasn't awesome, but it got me where I was going.

The Citrix Redmond office is out Advanced Products Group, so it's full of a bunch of programmers. The following were taken in the break room:

cool little table tennis table. maybe you can get Seven of Nine to play with you? Her hotness might distract you, though. The first time I walked into the room, the lights were off, so it was dim. I walked by the table, and out of the corner of my eye I saw a figure in the shadows. I jumped with a start. It was only her, a lowly cardboard cutout.

man, that's some weird poster they got on the wall. it looks kinda cool though. kinda like snowflakes. lets get closer...

hm. just a bunch of colored in squares. at the time i was reminded of some native american artwork. they have similar patterns woven into baskets and stuff. and washington has its fair amount of native american influence, so maybe some programmer is just in awe of them or something...

holy wow, it's a giant crossword! and look at those numbers? 9831+ clues?! damn, gina! but where were the clues? there was no giant clue poster on the opposing wall. instead, i turned to my side and found a giant clue book...

so if anyone can tell me a 9 letter word for the "largest business district of new york," i'd be happy to repost the picture...

so that's enough of the Citrix office. I went to lunch on thursday and found this sign at the entrace to the shopping center parking lot:

(note: i took this picture with my cell phone.)
OK, I'm fine with the sign up until it says, "Violators subject to Arrest and Prosecution..." so if you violate the two hour parking rule you could get arrested? that's kinda dumb, if you ask me. but i made sure to limit my stay to under two hours. i wouldn't wanna get arrested on the same day i'm supposed to go home...

and last but not least i took this one while waiting at the SeaTac International Airport. My 2 hour flight from seattle to san jose was delayed 2 1/2 hours. that sucked!

ok cool, benches, but why do people in wheel chairs need chairs to sit down on? if you can tell me that, i will !pay you 500 chuck e cheese tokens.

speaking of chuck e cheese's, i went there yesterday with my coworks. pictures

my away message currently reads:

my away message from last night said: "bella wants me to blog. what do YOU think?"

i received no responses.

however, there was a spike in people who looked at my blog last night.

apparently no one has an opinion yet everyone is nosey about scott. (haha. jaykay.)

statement: i didn't blog again.

what is your response to that? (will i again receive a spike in those looking at my blog? the world may never know... or in this particuar case, i'll just look it up tomorrow morning...)

the "statement" is of course a lie. see my previous post. i'm trying to get people to respond to my away message. i got 3 responses, all telling me to blog. i guess they didn't look at my blog.

i am not going to post this particular post until tomorrow (it'll be saved as a draft), but it's written down now, for history as of 11:15PM Wednesday September 22, 2004.

hilarious message i got from my buddy josh:

So I'm still in the glorious [humid] state of Minnesota. Its been a full month since I last canoed. Nothing but handyman [bitch] work to keep me busy around here since. I took a vacation [hellride] with my dad to see the family in Wisconsin. This Tuesday I'm deciding to leave [getting laid off] due to a lack of budget this year. I hope to work a couple days with our maintainance director [chimpanzee] and earn some good cash after all this guide work [slave labor]. After that I'll visit my family again and then head home. I should be in San Jose easily by the end of the month after an interesting [mind-numbing] drive home alone. Anyways, I just wanted to keep you guys apprised of my whereabouts in case anyone [federal law enforcement] was wondering. Hope to see you all sometime soon.
