i took this last weekend while walking around downtown LA with bella (fun, btw). honestly, i don't particularly like this building. i couldn't even tell you which one it was, or where it was. so why share the picture? i like how the building almost seems to disappear into the sky. it goes so far up you can't even see the top (ok, you can, but you almost can't). every day i drive away from and return to these iron and steel giants. it's amazing anything can be that tall. the sheer amount of material. the sure height. the straightness of it! it doesn't fall over. it doesn't bend. wow. that's all i say. the wonders of human ingenuit sometimes amaze me. there's someone behind buildings like this. an architect. a man (or woman, to be pc) who has a vision of this. he sees it perfectly clear in his head. the flow of the outer covering wrapping it's skeleton. the intricate heating and cooling systems. the texture of it as seen from far away. howard roark if you will. sometimes i wonder if could be behind something like that. not a building. but some idea as grand as a skyscraper... could i have that much vision? maybe? who knows.
